Forest School

In 2015 our school was fortunate to receive a grant from Big Lottery Fund which has allowed us to form our own Forest School and train two forest school practitioners.

Our qualified practioners deliver Forest School sessions which are uniquely tailored to the needs of the individuals in the group and have the fundamental aim of building participants' self esteem, confidence, independence and creativity.

Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve through hands on learning experiences in a local woodland or nature environment with trees. Wellbeing is the foundation of our practice and through recognising social, emotional and physical needs of participants, we provide the guidance and facilitation for our time in nature.

We try to ensure that all of the children within school have the opportunity to take part in forest school sessions at some stage throughout their school career. We also work within the community and link up with local schools and nurseries to provide them with the same opportunities.
